Stainless steel wire of the German brand GRIFFIN made of stainless (or surgical) steel type 316 with a thickness of 0.30 mm and a length of 9.15 m. The wire is made according to the German state standard identical to the Czech state standard (CSN) number 1.4401, which has exactly given the content of individual elements in the alloy. The surface of the wire is covered with nylon 6 (or polyamide 6 or polycaprolactam) to ensure a perfectly smooth surface of the wire, on which the beads will be perfectly threaded. Thanks to this special surface of the wire, it is also possible to use a crimp bead, which cuts perfectly into the polymer in the surface of the wire and will not move on the wire. GRIFFIN brand wire consists of nineteen braided ropes, whose flexibility and strength meet the highest standards. The transparent GRIFFIN HiFlex nylon coating guarantees high durability, long-term flexibility and good abrasion protection.

The alloy of stainless (surgical) closing steel is referred to as SAE 316 (so-called marine steel, which is now used, for example, for the production of surgical instruments). In addition, this particular stainless steel is manufactured in accordance with the German state standard in accordance with ČSN 1.4401 and, compared to the usual composition of 316 stainless steel, contains elements in an alloy with less dispersion and in a slightly different percentage. In addition to iron, as the main component, it contains 16.5-18.5 % chromium, 10-13 % nickel, 0-2 % manganese, 0-0.07 % carbon, 0-1 % silicon, 0-0.045 % phosphorus, 0-0.015 % sulfur and 2-2.5 % molybdenum, thanks to which the product is also resistant to the action of mineral (non-oxidizing) acids.
