Stainless steel ring-shaped beads used as separators for other beads with a diameter of 6 mm, a height of 2 mm and a hole for a thread with a diameter of 4 mm. The beads are made of stainless steel type 316.
The alloy of stainless (surgical) closing steel is referred to as SAE 316 (so-called marine steel, which is now used, for example, for the production of surgical instruments). In addition to iron, as the main component, it usually contains around 16-18 % chromium, 10-14 % nickel, 2 % manganese and 2-3 % molybdenum, thanks to which the product is also resistant to the action of mineral (non-oxidizing) acids.
