The alloy of stainless (surgical) closing steel is referred to as SAE 316 (so-called marine steel, which is now used, for example, for the production of surgical instruments). In addition to iron, as the main component, it usually contains around 16-18 % chromium, 10-14 % nickel, 2 % manganese and 2-3 % molybdenum, thanks to which the product is also resistant to the action of mineral (non-oxidizing) acids. Detailed information on the composition and properties can be found at English wikipedia.
